Phnom Penh: The Royal Government will hold elections to elect 5 new city and district leaders in the next four months. The five municipalities and districts that the Royal Government has just announced to establish new municipalities are Arey Ksat City, Sampov Poun City in Kandal Province, Oudong Me Chey City and Samaki Monichey District in Kampong Speu Province and OKreang Sen Chey District in Kratie Province. According to the sub-decree, Arey Ksat will have 19 councilors, Sampov Poun will have 19 councilors, Udong Me Chey will have 17 councils, Samaki Monichey district will have 19 members, and OKreang district Sen Chey will have 15 people. According to two separate letters, the decision of the Royal Government and the press release of the National Election Committee, April 9, 2023 has been set as the date of the first election.
