Sihanoukville: At least two people were killed and three others were injured in a fire at a nightclub in central Sihanoukville last night. According to the report from the authorities, JULIE & ANNA TOKYO Entertainment Club in the meteorological area in Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville City / Province caught fire at around 8 pm on January 30, 2023. The blaze left a male welder and a female foreman on fire, burns his skin and died on the way to the emergency room. Immediately after the incident, the presence of the Deputy Governor of Sihanoukville, Mr. Mang Sineth, Deputy Governor, along with the authorities, commissioners and military officers of Sihanoukville Province to intervene and protect the scene. Two people were killed and three others were injured in the incident.

1. An 18-year-old woman named Horn Srey Vet, currently residing in Village 2, Sangkat 1, Preah Sihanouk City / Province, died.

2. A man named Phorn Makara was born in Samrong Khang Keung village, Kork Prich commune, Ki Vong district, Takeo province, currently living in Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk City / Province, died

3. Man named Non Ratana, 20 years old, his hometown is Touk Meas East Commune, Banteay Meas District, Kampot Province, currently living in Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk City / Province.

4. Prak Saro, 34 years old, an employee, residing in Group 1, Village 2, Sangkat 3, Preah Sihanouk City / Province, suffered minor injuries.

5. A 23-year-old woman named Vong Sarom, a club employee living in Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk City / Province, suffered minor injuries.

Authorities said the fire was caused by welding inside the club while the club was under construction and running. While the welder was working, sparks exploded, touching the fabric and the sponge sofa, leading to a fire. At around 10 pm, the fire was completely controlled by the fire prevention and rescue intervention force, using two fire trucks of the Sihanoukville Provincial Commission, using two water trucks.
