A steel bridge in Veal Veng district, Pursat province, collapsed due to heavy transport

Pursat: A long steel bridge across a river in Pursat province collapsed on March 17 due to heavy loads. The bridge collapsed at 2:25 p.m. The collapsed bridge in Chhay Lok village, O’Som commune, Veal Veng district, was caused by a truck carrying stones for the Chinese company RB to build a road on National Road 10. There were no reports of injuries to the driver or others crossing the bridge.

Veal Veng District Inspector Virak Lt. Col. Theang Leng said that at present, the Chinese company RB is using cranes to lift trucks from the bridge, while the traffic is able to travel on another stone bridge under construction. Nearby, but driving on the bridge only cars and motorcycles.
