Prek Pra-Chak Angre Bridge Project Plans to Open Construction Site Soon

Cambodia and China have signed a concessional loan agreement for the construction of the Tonle Bassac Bridge (Chak Angre Krom-Prek Pra). During the signing ceremony of the concession loan agreement, 15 other cooperation documents were also signed between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese Premier Li Chheang during Hun Manet’s visit. To China on September 17, 2023.

The Prek Pra-Chak Angre Bridge project has been completed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and is scheduled to open soon.

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the bridge project will improve the road infrastructure network in Phnom Penh and promote economic, social and tourism development, as well as help reduce Traffic jams as well. The bridge project has been completed by the Chinese company Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd. (SCG) funded by the Chinese government.

The bridge from Chak Angre to Prek Pra in Meanchey district is more than 800 meters long, divided into 4 lanes (2 to 2) to avoid traffic jams on the bridge. The Prek Pra bridge project is worth about 60 million US dollars.
