Phnom Penh: Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, HE Chan Sinath, and his colleagues attended the inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) HE Ros Silawa. The meeting held on October 5, 2023 was a meeting to discuss the integration of rainwater harvesting and diversion plans and flooding from all ports of Phnom Penh.

The meeting was also attended by His Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen, Representatives of all relevant Ministries and Institutions of the Royal Government, His Excellency the Governor, Deputy Governors of the Board of Governors of Kandal and Kampong Speu Provinces. In this meeting, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the meeting decided as follows:

  1. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology is responsible for removing and diverting water from Phnom Penh on all ports outside the capital area in all directions of the river basin.

  2- The Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Phnom Penh Capital Hall are responsible for removing rainwater, wastewater and water filter inside Phnom Penh.
