The signing ceremony took place on the morning of January 26, 2023 at the Mine Authority. The signing ceremony was between the Mine Authority and the Army Command, the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), and the National Center for the Management of Peacekeeping Forces, Demining and Remnants of War. According to the organizers, the purpose of the signing is to clear mines in a total area of 180 million 278,817 square meters with a total budget of 30 million US dollars through the “Cambodia Mine Action Fund 2025” and Administered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The National Center for the Management of Peacekeeping Forces for Demining and Remnants of War will clear 27 million 119,697 square meters in Snuol district, Kratie province, Kirisakor district and Koh Kong district, Koh Kong province, and Mondulkiri province. The Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) will clear an area of 106,324,380 square meters in Kampong Thom, Pailin, Preah Vihear, Pursat, and Siem Reap provinces.
According to Senior Minister Ly Thuch, with the support of the Samdech Techo Mine Action Project, the Cambodian Mine Action Fund 2025 and its development partner, the Mine Clearance Plan for 2023, covers an area of approximately 411 km. Cells. Therefore, after 2023, Cambodia will have 18 capitals and provinces to declare mines. Next, seven provinces will be included in the demining plan by 2025: Koh Kong, Pursat, Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear.
