Police crack down on sex cafes in 3 locations in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: Police raided three sex cafes at the same time and arrested 12 suspects to the inspectorate. The operation took place on the night of September 22, 2023, by the Unified Command led by Deputy Governor of Daun Penh District, Mr. Chap Dina.

The three targets of the cafe with embedded sexual services include: First, the cafe on Street 82, House 1, Village 14, Sangkat Srah Chak, arrested 5 suspects (4 females), including one owner, a woman Serves 3 people and one sex worker. Second, the coffee shop is located on Street 80, House 23E, Village 14, Sangkat Srah Chak. Authorities arrested two suspects as sex workers. Third, the coffee shop is located at No. 13E0, Preah Sisowath Quay, Village 15, Sangkat Srah Chak. Police arrested five suspects (four women), including a janitor, a motorcycle guard and three sex workers.

The seized items include the first target, 15 unused condoms, 150,000 riels. The first target was 54-year-old Keo Srey Mom, alias Ka Preung, a Khmer Kampuchea Krom. The second target, the police seized a large number of unused condoms. As for the target 3, the police seized exhibits including: 38 unused condoms. The third target is the owner of the location, nicknamed Yeay Mao Phe Thmor, about 50 years old, living around Kolap Hall, Srah Chak Sangkat.

After the crackdown, authorities sent the suspect to the Daun Penh police station for questioning. Separately, the nine sex workers were sent to the Department of Social Affairs in Phnom Penh. Meanwhile, the authorities are building for the application of skills in accordance with legal procedures to the location owners.
