Senior Minister in Charge of Special Mission Leads Experts to Inspect Flood Rise in Kampong Thom Province

Kampong Thom: Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions and First Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Disaster Management, HE Dr. Kun Kim, led a government official to inspect the flood situation and other impacts in Stong district, Kampong Thom province this morning. September 22, 2023.

   The water level of Stung Stong on September 22, 2023 has decreased slightly. In the four most flooded communes: Preah Damrey, Rong Roeung, Banteay Stong and Trea communes in Stong district. Kampong Thom and there are no reports of people affected by the floods yet.

  His Excellency Dr. Kun Kim instructed the relevant authorities to release water in various drainage systems widely to avoid repeated flooding due to congestion and flooding as well as Stung Stong to loosen. And to drain the water quickly and lead to the rescue of rice paddies, crops and houses, as well as other infrastructure to be up-to-date, such as saving the lives of people and animals.

   His Excellency Dr. Kun Kim urged the relevant authorities, especially commune / district administrations, to compile statistics and update on the impact of damage to people’s rice fields, flooding and other infrastructure, especially in preparation for providing Emergency food, seed provision, restoration and provision of water sources for timely replanting and sowing seasons.
